Episode 33 "Rainy Night"
Misa and Claudia talk about the men in their lives over
glasses of wine. Misa learns how Claudia and Roy met.
Claudia also tells Misa about how their relationship
developed. Vanessa, Kim, and Shammy tell Hikaru that
Misa is in love with him but it takes a while to sink
in. Finally he tracks Misa down at Claudia's house and
they go back to his place for some tea.
Episode 34 "Private Time"
Misa and Hikaru have a date for a picnic. However, Minmay
calls Hikaru and he flies over to see her without telling
Misa. Meanwhile, Misa's still waiting for him. Kaifun
finds Minmay and Hikaru at a restaurant and takes Minmay
away to a show. After a few more drinks, Hikaru heads
back to his plane and Macross City. When Hikaru goes
for a walk with Misa, he wraps the scarf that had been
Minmay's present around her and she notices a monogram
Hikaru hadn't. Can Hikaru patch things up with Misa
now? At her concert, Minmay refuses to sing and tells
Kaifun that she wants to quit. After her selfish outburst,
he tells her that he is leaving.
Episode 35 "Romanesque"
It's Christmas time! Kamjin and his group have found
a Zentradi warship and are repairing it using techniques
learned from the humans. Minmay disappears only to show
up on Hikaru's doorstep. Unfortunately, Misa's on her
way to Hikaru's house and overhears Minmay asking for
a place to stay. Later, Claudia runs into Misa in a
bar and Minmay spends the night at Hikaru's house. The
day before Christmas, Kamjin and his team attack a city
in order to steal a thermonuclear reaction engine and
Max and Milia are dispatched to stop them. Milia ends
up in battle against her former commander Lap'lamiz
and Kamjin manages to escape with the engine. When Hikaru
returns to Macross City, Minmay has a Christmas dinner
waiting for him.
Episode 36 "Farewell to Tenderness"
Minmay is trying to get Hikaru to quit the military.
Kamjin gets his warship up and running and heads toward
the Macross. Misa is asked to captain a spaceship for
the new space emigration project. She goes to say goodbye
to Hikaru and tells him that she loves him. As Minmay
tries to stop Hikaru from chasing after her, the first
bombs fall in Kamjin's final fight against the Macross.
